Ram originally launched the Rebel X in 2025 as a one-year anniversary package celebrating a decade of the Rebel nameplate. Customers had other plans. Strong sales and vocal buyer feedback convinced Ram to bring the 2026 Ram 1500 Rebel X back for another round, and this time it arrives with a fresh coat of military-inspired green paint and every off-road and luxury feature that made the original a hit.
- The Rebel X is powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six, producing 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque.
- An exclusive Rough Road Cruise Control system adjusts suspension damping and steering weight based on terrain at speeds up to 20 mph.
- The 2026 Ram 1500 Rebel X can be ordered now with an MSRP of $71,930, which includes the destination fee and the Rebel Level 2 Equipment Group.
Why Ram Brought the Rebel X Back
Ram introduced the special-edition 1500 Rebel X last year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original Rebel, and thanks to strong demand, the rugged half-ton pickup is back for another year. According to Tim Kuniskis, Ram CEO and head of Stellantis’ American brands, the Rebel X earned a second run after customers urged the brand to keep it around.
The Rebel X returns for 2026 as an upgrade package for the Ram 1500 Rebel, bundling a long list of fan-favorite technology, comfort, and design perks into one factory-backed option. It sits right between the capable but somewhat spartan standard Rebel and the all-out, desert-stomping RHO. You get the off-road hardware you need and the upscale cabin you want, all in one package.
Hurricane Power Under the Hood
The powertrain carries over unchanged for 2026. Under the hood sits the standard-output version of the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane I6, producing 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. That’s 25 more horsepower and 59 lb-ft more twist than the outgoing HEMI V8, and it’s mated to the same ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic.
While the standard 2026 Ram 1500 Rebel can be ordered with either the Hurricane or the 5.7-liter Hemi V8, the Rebel X package is offered exclusively with the turbocharged six. If you’re disappointed about the missing V8, the numbers should change your mind. The Hurricane’s 420 hp and 469 lb-ft comfortably beat the Hemi’s 395 hp and 410 lb-ft.
Off-Road Gear and the Exclusive Rough Road Cruise Control
The Rebel X gets a one-inch suspension lift and Bilstein monotube shocks at both axles. The truck rides on 18-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch all-terrain tires and comes with an electronic locking differential and underbody skid plates. Front tow hooks round out the trail-ready hardware.
The standout feature, though, is the one you can’t get on any other Ram 1500. Rough Road Cruise Control automatically adjusts suspension damping and steering weight based on terrain while maintaining speeds up to 20 mph. Picture low-speed off-road cruise control. It helps maintain steady momentum over uneven ground without constantly working the throttle, and for technical trails or rough backroads, it reduces driver fatigue and builds confidence. That lets you focus on wheel placement and picking the best line through tricky spots instead of babysitting the gas pedal.
A New Military Green Paint and a Loaded Cabin
The X package includes the normally optional Rebel Level 2 Equipment Group, bringing the 1500’s larger 14.5-inch infotainment screen and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The 10.25-inch front passenger display is also included, along with dual wireless charging pads. On the comfort front, it adds a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a console-mounted shifter, paddle shifters, and upgraded seats with red accent stitching.
Touches specific to the X package include a glass-encased center console badge and bedside graphics bearing a Rebel X script. The package also marks the introduction of a new military green-inspired paint finish called Tank Clear-Coat, which Ram says will spread to additional select models across the 2026 1500 lineup. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is standard, along with heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a passenger-side screen, driver-seat memory, power-adjustable pedals, and a power tailgate.
Is the Rebel X Worth $71,930?
Ram has confirmed a starting price of $71,930 for the complete truck, including the $2,095 destination charge. That’s $4,490 more than the base price of a standard 2026 Ram 1500 Rebel. But look at the math. The standard 1500 Rebel begins at $67,645, and adding the Level 2 package alone brings the cost to $70,440, so upgrading to the Rebel X sounds like a no-brainer. You get the panoramic sunroof, the exclusive Rough Road Cruise Control, red-stitched leather seats, and every Level 2 perk for about $1,500 more than checking those boxes individually.
The price is $2,245 more than last year’s model, and it brings the Rebel X dangerously close to RHO territory, which starts at $76,390 for 2026. If you want the RHO’s 540-horsepower high-output Hurricane and desert-rated suspension, that extra spend makes sense. But if your off-roading leans more toward trails, fire roads, and backcountry camping spots, the Rebel X covers your bases without the price jump.
All Rebel X models come in one configuration: four-wheel drive, a Crew Cab body, and the 5-foot-7-inch bed. Order books are open now.
